Senior Management Team
Supporting the Leadership Team in realising the company's vision and corporate objectives. The SMT are responsible for planning and directing the work within their respective departments (Design and Development, Sales & Marketing, Business Support, HR, and Operations).

Closely monitoring and managing the capability and productivity of their departments through regular reporting. They ensure that departmental targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) are achieved, and when necessary, they suggest corrective actions and implement them to address any challenges or shortcomings.

By effectively leading their departments, the Senior Management Team contributes to the overall success of BroadShield and helps drive the organisation towards its goals and objectives.
Charlotte Abbiss
Head of Human Resources (HR) and Organisational Development (OD)
Charlotte is a hardworking, committed, and conscientious professional with a strong background in HR and OD. With a passion for learning and a track record of academic success, Charlotte brings a reliable and trustworthy approach to her role. Having joined CareShield in May 2018, she has gained valuable experience within HR, particularly in areas such as risk assessment, employee discipline, and policy adherence. Since assuming the position of Head of HR and OD for CareShield in 2022 and BroadShield in 2024, Charlotte has taken on significant responsibilities, including project planning, people development, change management, recruitment, and performance management reporting.

Charlotte brings a strong work ethic, HR expertise, and a dedication to continuous learning to her role as the Head of HR and Organisational Development at CareShield along with her strategic approach to people development and change management. Charlotte is results-driven and helps the company to navigate and stay up to date with the latest employment law, providing internal training for managers' professional development.

Head of Business Support
Sharon is an accomplished professional holding the role of Head of Business Support within the Senior Management Team (SMT).
Sharon's career at CareShield commenced in 2016 and later with BroadShield in 2024, where she brings a wealth of experience and expertise accrued across various industries to her current role. In her capacity, Sharon oversees critical aspects of administration, IT management, communications, governance, and compliance. Her dedication to enhancing operational efficiencies, streamlining processes, and delivering robust support to the Leadership Team has been a continued driving force in BroadShield’s growth and success.

Thomas Portlock
Head of Design and Development
Tom is a highly skilled and experienced professional who has been an integral part of the CareShield team since 2009 and BroadShield since 2011.
With a tenure spanning over a decade, his accomplished technical ability and dedication to driving excellence in design and development, Tom has made significant contributions to the company's success.
In 2020, he joined the Senior Management Team (SMT) as the Head of Design and Development, assuming a leadership role and providing crucial guidance in delivering innovative products and maintaining strong customer relationships.
Tom’s extensive technical knowledge, leadership capabilities, and dedication to delivering high-quality SaaS products have been instrumental in the company's growth and success. His ability to provide design guidance, support sales and marketing efforts, and ensure the timely delivery of innovative solutions has solidified his position as a valuable member of the SMT.
